I've been here 2-3 times in the last 5 years and eaten lunch here. The food is very good. They do table service, but manage to remain a proper pub rather than going "way gastro". A good beer selection, including Wadsworth's 6X, which it's unusual to find in this part of the country.

Fantastic pub. Service was very friendly and welcoming on every visit. Good beer selection - the casks change relatively frequently based on our 3 visits. If we are in the area again (we are from New Zealand), we will be back!

Had a Sunday lunch here today on the reccomedation of lady in a local store. Superb lunch good service a good price we will definitely return.

Great lunchtime selection of sandwiches, panninies and sharing boards. Makes a nice change from full dinners which are usually all you can get at lunchtimes.

Food seemed very good. On Tap drinks tasted watered down where later on I attained cronic acid indigestion likely from the cleaning fluid not flushed from the beer tap pipes. Really needs to focus on this to ensure continued customers.

A great pub. Always a lovely atmosphere, the interior design is nice & cosy. The staff are also very friendly and I greatly appreciate their tolerance in permitting my friends and I to finish our drinks slightly beyond closing time... we didn't want to leave!
